Women's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: A Supportive Place to Train

Our women's program offers real BJJ in a supportive, women-only environment designed to help students learn and keep showing up.

3 min readKIN Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Team

Our women's program is for women and teen girls who want to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a supportive, women-only environment.

This is real BJJ: fundamentals, positions, escapes, controls, submissions, and problem-solving. The difference is the room. For many students, especially at the start, training with other women feels more comfortable, approachable, and sustainable.

Classes are taught by women coaches and are open to all experience levels.

A Comfortable Place to Start

Starting BJJ can feel intimidating. Many people worry they're not fit enough, not athletic enough, or too inexperienced. Those concerns are normal.

You don't need to be in shape before your first class. You don't need martial arts experience. You don't need to know every position or term beforehand. That's what training is for.

The women's program is built so you can learn step by step, ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence without feeling rushed.

Real Training, Supportive Environment

Women's classes focus on real Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, not a watered-down version.

Students learn how to move, defend, escape, control positions, apply techniques safely, and understand why techniques work. Classes include instruction, drilling, partner work, and live training when appropriate for the student and the group.

BJJ should challenge you. It shouldn't make you feel like you don't belong.

How This Fits With Our Other Programs

Women's class is one entry point into training at KIN, not the only one.

Some students train primarily in the women's program. Others start here and later add gi or no-gi classes as they get comfortable. Both paths are valid.

Teen girls are welcome when the class is the right fit for their age, maturity, and training needs.

Beginners Lead the Way Here

Most students in this program are beginners, and that's exactly who the class is for. Newer students get clear instruction and a welcoming room. More experienced students get technical sharpening, leadership, and partners who are growing right alongside them.

Confidence Through Training

Confidence in BJJ comes from learning what to do, not from being told you're strong.

It comes from escaping a bad position for the first time, staying calmer under pressure, and realizing that technique and timing matter more than panic or raw strength. Over time, students get more comfortable with contact, movement, and resistance. That confidence is earned on the mats.

Membership and Schedule

Women's classes are part of our unlimited adult membership, which also includes regular adult gi and no-gi classes. Many students train mostly in the women's program; others use it as a comfortable starting point before adding co-ed classes. Either way it's the same membership, so there's no path to decide on up front.

For the latest class times, see the schedule page.

Common Questions

I'm not in shape. You build conditioning, strength, and coordination by training. You don't need to arrive fit.

I've never done martial arts. Most people start with no experience. Beginners are welcome.

I'm nervous about getting hurt. Safety matters. Students learn to train with control, communicate with partners, and progress at an appropriate pace.

I'm not ready for co-ed classes. That's one reason this program exists. Many students start here before deciding whether to join broader adult classes.

If you're visiting for the first time, see Your First Week at KIN for check-in, waiver, and what to expect.

Our Goal

We want women and teen girls to build real BJJ skill in a welcoming, respectful room: practical techniques, earned confidence, better fitness, and comfort with the challenges of training.

For some students, this program is home base. For others, it's the first step into the wider academy. Either way, the goal is the same: real training in a room where you feel comfortable enough to keep showing up. When you're ready, book a free trial.
